Recent Past

It has been far too long since I've written anything very literary.
Granted, I've written plenty of snarky papers for useless classes, but nothing satisfying, nothing compelling.
I can't say that I have anything satisfying or compelling to write now, but I am at least trying to revive my habit of writing.

Holy krikey!, way too much has happened since my last post.

I am now engaged to Megan Elizabeth White (future-Rudolph).
She is my best friend!
However, I don't think you understand the gravity of such a statement.
The poor term "best friend" is thrown around carelessly – the broader term "friend" has suffered even more abuse.
She meets me.
I long to understand God and His universe; so also does she.
I am greatly calmed by the smoking of a pipe; so also is she.
The desire to dance burns deep in my soul; so also does it in hers.
None of that comes even close to my point!
What is my point? …
A more profound, more subtle reality that better comprises the fact that she meets me is that she lets me live in freedom. That right there is a terribly difficult thing to explain because, if you don't live in freedom, you only know the sad, unnameable pang that forever pricks your heart. If you do live in freedom, you know it is so difficult to grasp or describe because it is free, alive, and wild.
She lets me live in the freedom that Christ's redemption bestows. Obviously, we both still fail often enough, but only in the sense that we are still good, old-fashioned sinners: sinning, repenting, being forgiven, being redeemed. Freedom is our ever-increasing modus operandi. Naturally, all people attached to Christ's death are in ever-increasing freedom, but there still seems a threshold that, once one has bled through it, breaks into such a vibrant, new light.
Oi, truly, I have sought an explanation for or description of the friend she is to me, but it seems too expansive.
She joins me in and welcomes me into a life of loving God and His children.
As always, I'll have to try again some other time, but, for now, that'll have to do.

Much has happened in the recent past.
Megan Elizabeth White (future-Rudolph) is most noteworthy.
