Light Bulbs & Literature
I saw a lightbulb joke earlier today, and I couldn't resist making this one up:
How many Americans does it take to change a light bulb?
Why does the lightbulb have to change, you intolerant, racist bigot?
I have more, but I'll save 'em.
In other news, we are on the verge of getting a new president. I am still ever so fond of a comic that was just a small series of captions:
Anything to get kids to read I guess.
From all the reports I have heard, I cannot justify devoting my time to the Nightfall series? The Twilight series! I cannot justify devoting my time or energy to the Twilight series.
C. S. Lewis is amazing though. Plenty of people have created new worlds, but he creates cultures, realities. He creates languages and customs. In all these worlds, he reveals truths that should be too esoteric for the plebeian to grasp, but he untangles it for us and paints it in the form of a lion, of a spaceship, of the planetary demigods. I have been inspired by many mucho books, but his tangible worlds were some of the original sparks that lit my imagination. Tetraearth will be my masterpiece. It's going to be exhausting, but I'll have a sufficient amount of practice by then.
I write so bloody little! The more I write, the more I feel like I write too little. It's becoming more sustainable, but it still feels a bit contrived. (I'm talking now specifically of my story.) It still feels like I'm trying too hard to control it all and not just trusting my characters to drive the plot. Baby steps I suppose. Baby steps.

2015: Trump's never going to be president.Hunger Games was a pretty neat series—nothing too striking. Teenagers saved the world from the manipulative adults.
2016: He can't do that. Can he?
2017: Are you watching the Hunger Games tonight? I hope my district wins.
Anything to get kids to read I guess.
