Only You
I often hear the phrase "Only you…" usually when referring to an activity that ranges from negligibly rare to moderately rare.
"Only you" is a gross hyperbole that implies the speaker has/would/could not ever perform such an activity. Doing thusly, a speaker is, at best, pretending that he or she is the only other person ever to have existed or, at worst, believing that the interlocutor is truly the only person who would do such a thing. This is petty ignorance.
