Mostly Musings about the Visuals in Werbel

So I'm not sure if I want to write Werbel, write random thoughts, write a random creative-writing sketch, or write nothing.

Thus, I am writing a random stuff. I don't even think I can justify sharing this on Facebook or what have you. I'm distracted by various activities around me. I should probably eat or drink something. However, I do always tell my students to write and read at least a little bit every day, so I'm following my own advice finally barely!

Nutella is so delicious, but it leaves an aftertaste that is lacking something. Chocolate milk makes everybody happy. You're probably related to Genghis Khan. Brushing teeth is nice; they don't even have to be your own teeth.

Werbel has definitely seen worse days, but he's still a bit feeble. In this case, I'm talking about his story and not the boy himself. His story is feeble. The scenery is lacking, bare, or nonexistent. The only real distinction between most of the characters is their names and perhaps their ages I guess. I've never really figured out how to distinguish rabbit faces. I can give their fur different colors, but that doesn't get me very far. I suppose it can't be too much of a barrier. They could have wider jaws, shorter noses, bent ears, broader shoulders, different textures of fur (glossy or matte etc.), stouter tummies, wrinkly faces, squinty eyes, and all the other options. I haven't yet been able to see Werbel or any of the others. I know their general ages/heights. I don't know what color their furs are. I know Alabaster is pale white. Actually, Allison is a sort of light almond color. Werbel is a plain but handsome brown. Jalek is a ruddy brown with faint maroon hues. Mary is a bright peach. Jeremy is a slate gray with scattered streaks of brown. Elenore is a few shades shy of crisp white. Sturga is auburn. Those are most of the main rabbits.

Chirrratka is a sleek ebony color. Rrraktotrrraka is a dark seagreen. Rrrassiktchyackachrrr is a drab, dark olive color. There aren't a lot of important lizards yet.

I suppose I've envisioned them – and even much of the scenery; I just haven't devoted a suitable amount of energy to the visible aspects of the story. The many years ago when I started this book, I wasn't much of a good describer. I'm still not noteworthy, but I've developed the skill a bit, and the contrast is displeasing. Luckily, I'll have to go back and rehash all the pages a hundred times.

I'm committed to it now. It's going to be a good exercise I suppose, but I'm looking forward to having a more robust structure before writing the next book. I still entertain thoughts of Jacob Jacobsson, but I might pursue one of my other sketches. I like the general idea for Xeif: cloudrunes, fulcrums, dragons and such. Kaz isn't too far from that. Allaria had a very charming introduction. The dragoners and dragonettes was just a light scribble. I have plenty to do for now though.

I hardly have an idea what many of the scenes look like. I barely know how the village looks. I barely know how the tunnels look. I don't know what the gatherings look like. Blah humbug. I'll figure it out slowly.

For now, I shall eat a snack or something like that.

Oh, also, I totally need a working title for Werbel instead of just calling his story "Werbel's Story" all the time.
